Special Guest to "An evening of John Lennon's music" on Sept 21, 2012

He was invited by Brian Epstein to join The Beatles, toured and recorded with Cliff Richard, Chuck Berry, The Beatles, David Bowie, Jeff Beck, Deep Purple, Eric Clapton, Gene Vincent etc, as well as having numerous singles and albums throughout the world. His voice has been compared to Little Richard and is dubbed “Englands’ Little Richard”.

Who is he? He is the legend that is the incredible Roy Young. As probably the greatest, and most original, Boogie Woogie piano player ever to emerge from the UK, legends like Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard have praised Young’s unique talent. As a singer, his voice has been hailed as one of the greatest in the history of rock ‘n’ roll. John Lennon once said; “If we all learned to sing from the book that Roy Young learned from, we’d all be ‘f-----g’ great.”

Young was an integral part of the genesis of rock ‘n’ roll in the UK in the 1950s and appeared on many TV shows such as Oh Boy and Drumbeat, and went on to become one of our greatest exponents of rock ‘n’ roll.
